What is Reiki?

 Reiki pronounced Ray-Key is channeled energy that flows directly from a Universal Source through a practitioner (a conduit) to the client for healing purposes.  The word Reiki is a combination of 2 Japanese word, Rei (Ray) and Ki (Chi).  The word Rei means spiritual consciousness and the word Chi means life force energy.  Therefore the word Reiki means Life's Spiritual Energy Force flowing through the Universe or God's Consciousness.  Some people believe that as far back as Jesus, a Reiki Master and Healer, shared with others his knowledge and ability to heal.

When our life force is out of balance, we express pain, discomfort, an emotional crisis or psychological nervousness.  The Practitioner will place their hands on various areas of the clients head, body and legs in a set pattern as well as use an intuitive direction for the client's highest good. The flow of positive energy increases a feeling of wellness and good health.

Who can benefit from a Reiki treatment?

 Reiki can be used to heal minor problems; such as, headaches, tension, emotional stresses, bee stings, skin rashes, frequent urination, diarrhea, sour body order, colds or flu and sleeplessness.  It can also be used for more serious illnesses such as; high blood pressure, broken bones, cancer, pre-or-post surgery problems, ADHD and heart disease.  Age is of no consequences.  Reiki is accessible to a 6 year old as well as 86 year old.

What Happens During a Treatment?

 A treatment begins with a review of the client's Health Record, discussing any concerns regarding their well-being. The client then lies on a comfortable massage table, fully dressed, under a sheet or blanket, listening to relaxing music on the stereo, during a 45-to-60 minute treatment.  The practitioner will then position their hands on various areas of the client's head, body and legs.  Hand positions can last from 2 minutes to 10 minutes in each location, depending on the person's condition.

What Does A Treatment Feel Like?

 Since every body is different, a Reiki treatment is never the same.   Some people feel nothing during a treatment; while others may feel the practitioner's hot hands on the body at the energy site.  Clients have expressed a feeling of tiny bubbles like sparkling ginger ale, tingling and pulsing from the palms for the practitioner.

While in a deep relaxed state, clients say sometimes it's as if they are floating on air above the massage table and they experience a vision or a childhood memory.  When they come off the table, the client often feels more energized, refreshed and almost euphoric.  It is said that a huge weight is lifted from them and there is a sense of calmness or contentment.  After a session, perhaps 2 or 3 or 4 days later, toxic energy that may have lodged in the person's muscles begins to release from a Reiki treatment, restoring balance to a person's energy field.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?

 The number of treatments vary.  Each person has individual needs.  It depends upon how long the condition persisted and how open the recipient is to a treatment.  Some people release energy block immediately after their first treatment; while others may want 6 to 10 more treatments.  There are no required number of treatments.  It is purely the client's own personal desire as to how often or how many treatments they may want.

What Is Long Distance Reiki?

 Long distance Reiki is healing "through the air waves."   Should a person who lives across town or across country want a Reiki treatment but is unable to come to the practitioner's place of business, then a practitioner who is attuned with long distance Level 2 Reiki is able to send healing energy to the Receiver. 

The Practitioner must first be attuned to Reiki, Level 2.  The Reiki Practitioner uses 3 long distance symbols by the use of paper or pictures or telephone or the mind all the way through the session to send healing energy to the client with the Receiver's permission and with the Receiver's an agreed upon appointment.  This method works regardless of who the person is, the time of day or what the person is doing.  A person fast asleep in Australia can receive a healing treatment from a Practitioner in Canada .  Where the mind goes, the energy flows.
